We use AI tools in producing this site, and we think readers are entitled to know exactly where and how.
Where AI is used
AI assists with research summarisation, first drafts, data cleaning, and the mechanical work of maintaining a directory of thousands of records – deduplication, address normalisation, and checking listings against operator sources at a scale no person could do by hand.
Where it is not
No article is published as raw model output. Every piece is edited by a person before it runs. Facts, figures, and quotes are verified against a source rather than accepted from a model, because models produce plausible numbers that are wrong. Where a piece needs a figure we cannot confirm, the piece does not run until we have it.
Directory data
Crypto ATM listings come from operator-published data, not from a language model. AI is used to clean, deduplicate, and structure that data. It is not used to generate addresses. A machine that cannot be confirmed against its operator’s own records is not published.
Images
Where an image is AI-generated or a stock illustration rather than a photograph of the thing described, we do not present it as documentary.
Accountability
A named human editor is responsible for everything published here regardless of what tools were involved. Errors are ours, not the model’s. See our editorial process.
